The way that you clean your partials will depend on whether you have a traditional metal and acrylic partial. Dr. May will give you thorough instructions on caring for your partial, but in general, you should follow these tips:

• Don’t use hot water to clean or soak your partial. The heat can cause the materials in the partial to soften and can change the shape of the partial.

• Use a product specifically designed to clean your type of partial. Traditional partial wearers can use denture-care products to clean their partial. 

​

• No matter which type of partial you are wearing, be very careful not to drop your partial. This can severely damage your appliance and will require repair and, possibly, replacement. With good care habits, your partial should last you for years.
