While good oral hygiene habits will help to keep your teeth healthy and beautiful, time and age can both dull your sparkling smile. Professional teeth whitening can restore your teeth back to their natural shade.

Teeth can become dull for a variety of reasons. Some foods and drinks, especially coffee and wine, are often culprits, and even certain medications can stain your teeth. Yellowing of the teeth is often inevitable as we age, but teeth whitening allows us to turn back the clock. While teeth whitening is not a permanent solution to the problem, most people will only need occasional touch ups after they have had their teeth professionally whitened.

KoR WHITENING vs. DRUG STORE KITS

At Troup Family Dental to best whiten your teeth we use the clinically proven KoR Whitening system. While most custom whitening kits whiten much better than the whitening kits that you might find in the drugstore, Kor Whitening allows for more customization and better results. The kit includes custom-made trays for your teeth, as well as all the accessories you need to have the best and most effective whitening experience.  While all whitening gels may cause some sensitivity, you will be provided with desensitizing liquid in order to make the process much more comfortable. KoR whitening custom trays are made by the KoR lab specially to seal well around the gumline of your teeth.  This allows the whitening gel to not be diluted by your saliva as much as store bought and even other custom trays. The undiluted gel is much more effective in achieving the bright smile you’ve always wanted!

THE TEETH WHITENING PROCESS

If you are interested in having your teeth professionally whitened, call Troup Family Dental today to schedule a consultation! We will check your teeth and gums and make sure that you are a good candidate for whitening. The next step will be to take impressions of your teeth for your custom-made trays. We may also take photographs, which will allow you to see the improvement in the color of your teeth.

When your trays are ready, we will go over the process with you and show you how to use the product. We will inform you how to dispense it, when to use it, how often to use it, and how long to use it. If you have any questions about the process or if there’s something you don’t understand, please let us know. We want you to have a great teeth whitening experience and fantastic results. If you get home and find that you have a question, go ahead and give us a call.

Before you use the product, make sure to brush and floss your teeth. This will help you get the best results possible and make sure that the product comes in contact with all the surfaces of your teeth. Plaque that remains on the teeth could cause your results to vary and may even give you a blotchy appearance.

After you’ve completed the full treatment, return to our office. You will have the opportunity to compare your results to the original shade of your teeth. We will also discuss how to do periodic touch ups to make sure that you can maintain your results.
