When you first enter our office, you will be warmly greeted by Kimberly, a member of our front desk staff. Our friendly dental assistants, Tricia and Barbie, will help prepare you for your appointment and make sure that you are completely comfortable. Tammy, our talented and gentle hygienist, will give you a fantastic cleaning and teach you ways to care for your teeth and gums in order to prevent gum disease.

Meet Our Team
Dr. Marshall May, DDS
Dr. Marshall May is an experienced, knowledgeable dentist who truly cares for his patients and enjoys getting to know them. In addition to being skilled in cosmetic and general dentistry, he has pursued advanced training in numerous areas such as molar root canal therapy, impacted wisdom tooth removal, and advanced practice management.
Dr. May completed his undergraduate work at Lubbock Christian University and then went on to complete dental school at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He practiced in Tyler, Texas, before joining Troup Family Dental in September 2012. He is currently an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and East Texas Dental Society.
Dr. May is passionate about missions and serving underprivileged people around the world. He serves at Troup Family Dental's annual Free Dental Day, Texas Mission of Mercy, numerous medical mission trips to Mexico, the border area of Texas, and Arequipa, Peru.
Dr. May thoroughly enjoys the community and people of Troup as well as the surrounding areas. He enjoys serving at church and spending time with his beautiful wife, Erin, daughter, Ella, son, Jude and friends. Dr. May’s hobbies include hunting, shooting, running, the outdoors and basketball, but he loves snow skiing most of all. He’s a loyal and enthusiastic fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs -- even in the low times!
Tammy, Dental Hygienist
Tammy loves her patients and loves meeting new people and learning more about their lives. She has a great relationship with her patients. Tammy performs dental cleanings, gum treatments, takes x-rays, and assesses each patient’s overall periodontal (gum) health.
Born and raised in Troup, Tammy has worked in her hometown for over 9 years. After graduating from Troup High School, she attended Tyler Junior College where she received an Associate degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been a dental hygienist for over 14 years.
Tammy married her high school sweetheart, and they have two children, a 15-year-old and a 13- year-old. She is very active in her hometown and in her children’s hobbies, sports, and activities. She enjoys coaching softball and cheerleading and plays on a co-ed softball team with her husband and siblings.
Tricia, Dental Assistant
Tricia greets every patient with a smile and a warm heart to make them feel relaxed as much as possible. She makes all her patients feel like family. She has been a dental assistant for 17 years, and through her wealth of knowledge and experience, she provides patients and the doctors with unmatched dental assisting. She helps educate patients on the care of their teeth as well as procedures.
Outside of the office, Tricia has an 8-year-old daughter, who keeps her busy on the weekends and during the week. She and her daughter, Emma, enjoy going to church and visiting with all their friends. She has a large family that keeps her busy as well. She loves having family members come over for meals as well as outside sports. She enjoys working out with her daughter on a daily basis, reading her Bible daily, and visiting with her neighbors.
Barbie, Dental Assistant
Barbie loves being a part of Dr. May’s practice. She uses her 7 years of dental assisting experience to make patients feel comfortable and to help them achieve their dental goals. Barbie is very personable and is great at comforting anxious patients. Her favorite part of her job is the joy patients experience with the end results of their treatment. She enjoys giving back to the community and has volunteered at Dentistry with a Heart, Bethesda Clinic and Troup Family Dental’s Free Dental Day.
In her spare time, Barbie enjoys watching movies and TV shows, and reading books by Nicholas Sparks. Her favorite movies are Frozen and Safe Heaven. She is married to her best friend, Nathan. Together they have two beautiful daughters, 8 year old Kyleigh, and 2 year old McKenzie. She and her husband love playing co-ed sports with their church, Pleasant Hill Baptist. Barbie is very active in her church, including teaching a Wednesday night Bible study.
Kim, Office Manager
Kim, the office manager, always greets patients with a warm smile! She assists the patients with all of their scheduling and financial needs. She has a friendly, upbeat personality and multitasks well, but her favorite thing is greeting and catching up with patients. Her hometown is Mt. Pleasant, TX, but has lived in Troup for the past 15 years. She is married with five kids, four of whom still live at home. Her hobbies include watching her kids play sports and competing in livestock shows with their animals, reading, camping, fishing, and attending an annual team roping with her husband.
Chelsea is a friendly asset to our front office who will always greet you with a smile! While she mainly works in the front office, she is also a registered dental assistant and assists with procedures as necessary. She is knowledgeable about dentistry and would love to answer any questions you might have about your treatment. She is a familiar face around town because she was raised in Troup and graduated from Troup High School.
During her spare time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family and dogs. She is very passionate about animals and loves being outdoors. Her hobbies include hunting, fishing and riding four-wheelers.
